Election 2023

A Message from Your Congressman, Brett Guthrie

October 27th, 2020

Brett Guthrie
Brett Guthrie.

Hi, I’m Congressman Brett Guthrie, from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself.

My family came to Kentucky when my Dad was laid off from Ford Motor Company. He moved us here and started his own business – Trace Die Cast. I worked there with my brothers and we still operate today, a proud part of America’s great automotive manufacturing industry.

I joined the military along the way, graduating from West Point and serving in the 101st Airborne Division.

I married my sweetheart, Beth, and we had three amazing children who are now starting careers and families of their own. We recently just had our first granddaughter, a precious reminder of the importance of life!

That next generation—and the one after that—are why I got into public service in the first place. I want them to inherit a country where the American Dream is alive and well for them and for all generations to come.

My values have been shaped by my parents, my family, my faith, and my Old Kentucky Home. And you can bet I draw on those values every day in Washington as I work alongside President Trump to deliver for you.

I’m a conservative – I believe in the constitution. I believe in the Second Amendment and your individual right to keep and bear arms. I am pro-life, and I believe that strong families make for strong communities.

With President Trump leading the way, I fight for rural America and the pro-worker, pro-family values that are often forgotten by Nancy Pelosi and the liberals in Washington.

That means voting for policies that help workers and small businesses today, so people can provide for their families.

It means creating apprenticeship programs and workforce development legislation to ensure folks have the skills they need to succeed in a fast-changing economy.

It means fighting for the most vulnerable among us by combatting human trafficking, taking care of our veterans, and protecting Medicare and Social Security.

And it means prioritizing health care–finding ways to lower drug prices and ensuring access to medical care for all Kentuckians.

As a congressman, I don’t own this job. You do. And that’s why I put your values first when I cast a vote on the House floor. I create solutions that work for Kentucky, and that often means working across the aisle to do so.

Right now, one of the most important projects we have is to develop a coronavirus vaccine, and I’m proud to be working with President Trump and a bipartisan group of colleagues to deliver a safe, effective vaccine at WARP SPEED.

If re-elected my priorities will be guided by the three R’s: restore, renew, and rebuild. We must restore our value-led way of life, renew the American dream that has long been a shining beacon in the world, and rebuild our economy to ensure prosperity for future generations.

I am humbled by the support I’ve been given over the years, and once again ask for your vote this election season!

Stay safe, and I hope to see you soon!
