Mark Burnett
October 27th, 2026

4th District Magistrate
BRANDENBURG
For Mark Burnett, Meade County’s future starts with its families. He wants this county to remain a place where parents can raise their children, find good paying jobs, and afford a home of their own. He is running for Fourth District Magistrate.
Mark’s priorities are straightforward: make it easier to build homes, support opportunities for good jobs, and plan for where industry fits within the county as a whole. Growth should be considered with the families who live here in mind. Jobs, housing, and the character of the community belong in the same conversation.
Those concerns are personal. Mark graduated from Meade County High School in 1988. He and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 36 years. They raised three sons, two of whom served in the United States Navy, and are proud grandparents.
Mark serves as an Elder at Journey Church and directs the local Church Softball League. Through church, family, and community activities, his connection to Meade County reaches beyond an election campaign.
He and Kathy own Burnett Embroidery and Screen Printing and operate the gift shop at the Patton Museum on Fort Knox. They understand the responsibility of serving customers, managing costs, and keeping a business moving forward.
Mark brings experience solving problems. Beginning as an assembler at Symbol Technologies in 1995, he advanced to supervisor and plant manager. When the Indianapolis plant closed and its work moved to Mexico, he experienced what happens when jobs leave a community.
He later became a Customer Advocate and developed expertise in Lean Six Sigma, a method for reducing waste and improving results. He earned a Black Belt through Motorola University and later became a Master Black Belt. His work across Symbol, Motorola, and Sanmina generated nearly $20 million in total value. He became Global Quality Manager in 2019.
That background matters because county decisions require listening, careful planning, and responsible use of resources. Mark offers experience asking questions, finding causes, and making improvements that can be measured.
He is seeking to represent Ashcraft, Brandenburg East, and Brandenburg West with those skills and a concern for the people who call this county home.
His goal is a Meade County where families can build their lives and see a future worth staying for. For experience grounded in community and a focus on families, vote Mark Burnett for Fourth District Magistrate.
