Why I Support Joe Redmon for State Representative
October 27th, 2026

Joe Redmon has my support for state representative in Kentucky’s 27th House District. His record of service and his priorities for state government give me confidence that he will approach the job with discipline and a clear sense of responsibility.
Joe spent 24 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, including service in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He also earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in government from the University of Louisville. That background combines practical experience with formal study of how government works. In my judgment, it is useful preparation for a legislator who must weigh difficult choices and accept responsibility for the results.
Joe and his wife, Sonja, have been married for more than four decades and have called Meade County home for nearly three decades. Their three grandchildren live nearby, and Joe coaches their soccer teams. His family has a personal stake in the future of the community he wants to represent.
His plan for state government begins with clear priorities: public health and safety, infrastructure, and education. He wants spending outside those core responsibilities examined more closely. That gives voters a reasonable standard for judging his work and a starting point for holding him accountable.
I agree with that approach. Taxpayers deserve to know what their money accomplishes. Before continuing or expanding a program, lawmakers should ask what it costs, what results it delivers, and whether it earns the public’s continued support. Careful oversight helps protect the services people depend on while identifying spending that cannot justify its cost.
Joe supports moving toward eliminating Kentucky’s income tax and considering ways to reduce property taxes. He connects those goals to controlling government spending. Lasting tax relief requires legislators to make difficult budget decisions, and I want that work taken seriously.
He also supports seeking state assistance for improvements to roads, water, sewer, and power infrastructure. Those systems affect daily life and our ability to accommodate future growth. Planning for them is a practical responsibility of government. It deserves steady attention long before a problem becomes an emergency.
Education is another reason I support him. Joe favors greater parental involvement and increased support for trade schools. Young people deserve a strong education and opportunities to develop skills they can use. A student preparing for an apprenticeship or a technical career deserves encouragement and a clear path forward. Expanding those opportunities can help people build a future close to home.
Joe is clear about his conservative convictions, including protecting unborn life and defending Second Amendment rights.
I expect Joe to explain his votes, scrutinize spending, and stay focused on the responsibilities he has identified. His experience and priorities give me confidence in making that choice.
I encourage you to join me in supporting Joe Redmon for state representative in the November 3 election. He has served our country, built his life in this community, and is now asking for the opportunity to serve us in Frankfort.
